2011 Safety and Performance
Workshops
|
These Workshops have been designed to improve rider knowledge and awareness,
which
alongside technical ability are the main ingredients to a safe, happy and
successful
season. They are an ideal pre-season training session aimed at developing confidence
in
horse and rider.
Indoor Workshops These full day
courses start with a practical course walking session of simmulated XC fences. This looks at many of the technical
aspects of XC such as distances, curving lines, skinnies, angles, corners and related distances.
The ridden session focuses on the balance and rhythm of horse and rider whilst
negotiating technical fences, distances and curving lines.
This years 2 1/2hr theory session looks at Sport Phycology with Charlie Unwin who
will be helping riders to achieve their performance goals. We will also be working with riders to assess their
horses stride length to improve combinations and related distances. Horse fitness, new rules and doping regulations
will also be covered. Again for 2011 we have a new XC rider analysis DVD.
This fully informative day caters for individual needs and offers the rider a point
of
contact for any other problems that arise through the competitive season.

Outdoor Workshops These half day
courses start with course walking including discussion on course design,
distances, lines, terrain, straightness, types of canter, rider responsibility etc.
Speed
training is then used as part of the warm up to gain greater understanding of
different
speeds required at different levels. This is followed by cross country training over
fences
suitable for the experience of the horse and rider.
